Hotel NewNagano NeXT

This hotel is a 10/10 recommendation if you are looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay. Just 2min from Nagano Station and very easy to find. I used it as a base for day trips to the surrounding countryside and cities. Also, buses to Zenko-ji leave right in front of the station. My room was small as is usual for business hotels, and it looked spartan, but honestly, it had everything one could need. a small but very deep bathtub, towels, hairdryer, tea, coffee, a comfortable bed. It might be a squeeze for two people with massive suitcases, but for a solo traveller with hand luggage there was plenty of room. The amenities "bar" in the foyer is amazing! It was crazy what you can have, tea, coffee, ten different kinds of shampoo, bath salts... also, this might be a small thing, but they give you coins for the cold drinks vending machine, which is a nice touch.

the hotel room was comfy , location is good & near Nagano Sta., nice supermarket & department store nearby, closed to many restaurants. hotel generously provide many amenities, as well as free donuts time, free drink from vending machine ( one per guest per day). staff are very helpful even they may not speak fluent English (they use language translator which has no problem), hotel provide lockers with keys in the lobby for guest to put belongings before check-in (or even after your shopping and do not want to go up to your room yet!)

A great hotel in a convenient part of Nagano. The hotel is a very short walk from Nagano station. Be prepared to be greeted by friendly staff members who may offer you a sweet “welcome donut” upon arrival. Service! … Aside from the great location, helpful staff, and comfortable rooms, this hotel encourages smart ecological choices by maintaining a supply of the items typically needed by travelers, rather than placing them in individual rooms. This encourages an “as needed” mindset. … The breakfast options was more than satisfying, with a wide array of of foods to choose from. The breakfast space had a friendly, casual atmosphere that really characterized the overall vibe of the hotel itself. … I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. I would certainly stay there the next time I am in Nagano.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet was amazing with daily changing dishes and lots of vegetarian options. The room was spacious enough, clean and very well equipped, the mattress was comfortable. They provide lots of free amenities such as welcome donuts, a pillow exchange service and sanitary articles. The WiFi was fast and reliable. The location is awesome right next to the main station.

What's not to like! Spacey for a Japanese hotel, clean, the room is stocked with amenities but you can also help yourself with additional ones at reception. They have a corner dedicated to helping yourself with pillows, a range of shampoos, bath salts, face masks, hair clips, slippers, you name it. I also got a complimentary donut and a drink from their vending machine on arrival. They have machines for self check in, but if you arrive during the day the reception is staffed and they were friendly and helped me check in. Location wise, it's opposite the train station, walking distance to the alpico bus stop, close to plenty of restaurants. Walkable to most tourist sites.
